Our local RAYNET group is exploring the use of the AREDN MESH software. We have deployed multiple nodes running various equipment tests. We have an Intranet Web Server, CCTV, VoIP phones and a RaspPBX. We are using VPNs to interconnect the core nodes situated at various member’s houses.

Currently they are just meshing with the node in my truck.

AREDN MESH Go Box – Project Write Up
I needed a go box of mesh stuffs that could be deployed quickly and contain some PIs, an access point and an AREDN node.
I am quite fond of the Really Useful Box series and have a number of them with project parts and tools in etc. So I choose a 9L box to try and fit some bits in.

AREDN MESH node boxed up with a couple of PIs. One VoIP Server and one Intranet/File Server. Space for one more coming.
Also includes a Wi-Fi access point. The Mikrotik RouterBoard is running The Dude Server and also allows some MESH to Local Network traffic routing.
